Many of the widows are thrust into this situation without the skills and qualifications necessary to seek gainful employment. Even when the widows were already working as part of a two income family they now need to increase their earning power in their new role as the lone breadwinner.
Zeh LaZeh job training program is the first step in assisting the widow on the path to financial stability and independence so that ultimately she can stand on her own two feet. The widows can choose from a variety of vocational courses ranging from hairdressing, cosmetics and wig repair to computer programming, bookkeeping and secretarial, to retrain and learn the skills necessary to join, and/or re-enter the workforce and to upgrade their earning power to support their families with dignity.
Currently, Zeh LaZeh pays for women to go to outside job-training facilities but plans to establish its own in-house vocational school under one roof, so that Rebbetzin Rottenberg and her team can more easily monitor attendance and progress and when necessary modify or change the courses to suit the needs and abilities of the individual widows.
